July 2016 ICMPC was a blast! We saw some great talks, and Tessa, Jade, Marijn and Dan successfully presented their work. On towards the next meeting!

The lab is going to San Francisco! Four abstracts were accepted for presentation at the International Conference for Music Perception and Cognition (ICMPC) in July.

April 2014

This summer, I will lead a symposium at ICMPC13 in Seoul, South Korea, entitled ‘Musical movement: Effects of cueing and feedback’. The symposium will include Marc Thompson, Nicolas Farrugia and Floris van Vugt as speakers and Prof. Peter Keller as a discussant. I will also present my fMRI work at Neuromusic V in Dijon, France.

June 2013

I will be giving one of the key note talks at the Embodied Music Cognition conference in Edinburgh in July, entitled ‘Mental representations in musical processing and their role in action-perception loops’.

February 2012

Our symposium entitled “Classification as a tool in probing neural mechanisms of music perception, cognition, and performance”, co-organized with Shinichi Furuya, was accepted for ICMPC 12. Speakers include Rutger Vlek, Blair Bohannan Kaneshiro and Leigh Smith, our discussant will be Petri Toiviainen.
