PAST MEETINGS: Announcement for first meeting below, further updates will be posted here.
We are calling all researchers in music perception and cognition to participate in a first meeting of a Dutch-Belgian network meeting, on June 7th 2018 in Leiden, The Netherlands.
The purpose of the meeting is to facilitate communication and collaboration between researchers who are geographically close and have shared interests, and stimulate cross-disciplinary interactions. We hope that in this way, music research in The Netherlands and Belgium will be further stimulated, and a collaborative network is provided, especially also for students and early-career researchers. An initial suggestion is to organise bi-yearly meetings that rotate in location, but this may also be a topic in the first meeting. The program for this meeting will be circulated soon, based also on who is interested. To give everyone a chance to travel, we aim to start with coffee at 10:30h and with the plenary meeting at 11h, lasting until 16h.
We explicitly welcome people coming from different related disciplines to join, or express interest to take part in the network if the date is not suitable. Given the large number of international researchers we are opting to speak English in plenary settings, but of course this does not have to be the case in all interactions.
If you are interested to join us in Leiden on June 7th, or would like to stay informed, please let us know by emailing nlbe.music.research.network@gmail.com by May 28th. Feel free to distribute this invitation to other potentially interested researchers.
